Our Infant Care Program

6 weeks-24 months

Folsom Lake Montessori Infant Care Program is known for its individualized care and attention. Our primary goal is to make sure your child is safe, happy, discovering and learning all about the environment. As for you, the parents, we provide assurance that your child is taken care of, and the child’s needs are met. We provide strong communication through our brightwheel app with messages, pictures, daily logs of feedings, diaper changes and sleeping habits. We also capture photos and videos of your child’s development progress on a daily basics and share them on the app. Our teachers are always around to provide a warm nurturing and safe environment, which caters to each individual child in the classroom.

Our Curriculum

Teachers carefully observe infants to understand their unique needs and interest, then introduce activities and materials that align with their developmental stage. Teachers treat infants with respect, recognizing their inherent potential, and allowing them to learn at their own pace. Infants will through Sensory exploration, Movement and motor development, Language development, Social and emotional development, and Independence and self care.

  • Sensory exploration: Infants are encouraged to explore the world through their senses, using materials with different textures, colors, and sounds to stimulate their developing senses.
  • Movement and motor skills: Montessori emphasizes freedom of movement and provides opportunities for infants to develop gross and fine motor skills through activities like reaching, grasping, crawling, and walking.
  • Language development: Teachers engage infants with language through songs, stories, and inter actions, creating a rich language environment to support their communication development.
  • Social and emotional development: Infant programs foster positive social interactions and emotional growth through care giving routines, small group activities, and opportunities for inter action with peers and caregivers.

What we maintain in our Infant classroom

  • Ensuring each childs feelings of security and trust to develop social emotional development.
  • Playing, talking, singing, and reading to infants frequently.
  • Responding quickly in a soothing and tender manner to infant's cries or calls of distress.
  • Responding consistently to infant's needs for food and comfort.
  • Implementing individualized feeding plans for children that planned by parents; respects individual preferences and eating styles sits with infants and shares family-style meal models manners and good nutrition.

The basic curriculum consists of constant interactions between infants and their teachers. Our infant room encourages daily activities designed to support the individual development needs of each child.
